ASMRASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a tingling sensation under the skin, somewhat like goosebumps under the skin; the intense tingles feel like electricity flowing through the branches of a lightning. The tingling starts from the back of the head and may move down the spine. The oldest ASMR experiences may be remembered from childhood, when children hear their mothers or fathers whisper loving words and caress them. Not all people experience ASMR. ASMR is triggered, for example, by faint noises which occur in a silent environment, like:
Whispering is the most effective factor, triggering ASMR in 75% of people (who experience ASMR).
Below are some videoclips which are relaxing and may even trigger ASMR in you; their effect is unlikely to be as intense as it can be when triggered by physical events in a quiet environment. It may be better to listen rather than watch because the brain can relax more when it doesn't have to concentrate on watching. Some of the files below need to be heavily edited (to remove annoying sounds from them).
